Your first visit takes about 45 minutes. We review your health history, perform a digital posture scan plus a neurological and orthopedic exam, take any necessary x-rays in-office, and discuss findings. Most patients receive their first treatment the same day.

Do you take insurance?+

Yes. We accept most major insurance plans including BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Medicare. We also offer affordable cash-pay options and family discounts. Bring your card and we'll verify benefits.

How much does chiropractic care cost?+

Initial exams typically range $75–$150 depending on imaging needs. Adjustments are $45–$75 per visit. Most insurance covers a portion. We provide a clear treatment plan and cost estimate at your first visit — no surprises.

How many visits will I need?+

It depends on the condition. Acute pain often resolves in 4–8 visits. Chronic, long-standing problems usually take 12–24 visits over 6–12 weeks. We re-exam every 12 visits so progress is measurable.

Is chiropractic safe for kids and pregnancy?+

Yes. Dr. Hatlen uses gentle, low-force techniques appropriate for newborns, children, and pregnant patients. Many North Phoenix and Scottsdale families bring the whole household.

What's the difference between an adjustment and a massage?+

Massage works on soft tissue. A chiropractic adjustment restores motion to a specific spinal joint, which calms the nerve and the muscle around it. They complement each other but are not the same.

Will my back 'go out' if I stop coming?+

No. Once corrective care is complete, you decide whether to continue wellness visits. Most patients choose monthly maintenance — like dental cleanings for your spine.
