Hey there, and welcome back to Hatlen Health Chat! I’m Dr Gary Hatlen, and today we’re talking about an easy way to keep your spine happy—stretching!

Whether you work at a desk, drive long hours, or just spend a lot of time sitting, your spine can take a beating. But a few simple stretches can make all the difference.

First up: The Chin Tuck. This one is great for reversing “tech neck.” Simply sit up tall, gently tuck your chin toward your chest, and hold for five seconds. Repeat a few times throughout the day.

Next: The Shoulder Blade Squeeze. Sit or stand tall, pull your shoulder blades back and down, and hold for 10 seconds. This helps counteract slouching and opens up your chest.

And finally: The Lower Back Stretch. While sitting, cross one leg over the other, placing your opposite elbow on the outside of your knee. Gently twist your torso and hold for 10 seconds. This stretch helps relieve lower back tension.

Stretching is a simple habit that keeps your spine flexible and pain-free. Try adding these to your daily routine, and if you need more personalized care, come see us at Hatlen Family Chiropractic.

That’s it for today—keep stretching, keep moving, and take care of that spine!
